Happy Monday everybody!
We know everybody has a lot to do now that spring break is over so we’ll get right to it. And we’ve got a lot to cover this time.
First up, we wanted to make sure everyone knew we are playing the 2017 Inman Park Festival April 29. The Bitteroots take the stage at 1 p.m. on the Euclid Avenue Stage, so be sure to get there for our set and stick around for the parade at 2 p.m. as soon we wrap up.
It’s our first time playing this festival but we hope to make it a regular thing.
The very next night, April 30, we’ll be playing back at Eddie’s Attic during the Bob Dylan vs. The Band show presented by the Amplify Decatur Music Festival. We’ve got a killer set of songs picked out for this one so we hope to see you there to support a good cause. Like all of the Amplify shows, the funds raised go to the Decatur Cooperative Ministry to fight homelessness in our area.
The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are here for $15-$18.
Next up on the list, as festival season continues, is the Woodstock Trailfest May 6 to benefit the Greenprints Alliance. We’ll be on the Resurgens Orthopaedics stage beginning at 3:20 p.m.
“Trailfest is the single largest annual fundraiser for Greenprints Alliance, a non-profit organization based in Woodstock, GA, which has an annual public and private contribution goal of $100,000 to advocate for and fund green infrastructure projects as part of the award-winning Greenprints Master Plan of trails, pathways and inter-connectivity around Woodstock, GA and Cherokee County,” the festival website says. “While Trailfest is free to enter thanks to the support of our partners, opportunities will be available for visitors to donate or get involved with the organization.”
We hope to see our supporters out and about for this event that will be new to us and we hope to make some new friends on the north side at the same time.
Later in May, The Bitteroots will be returning to Eddie’s Attic to continue the tradition of celebrating our birthday with our all friends. We hope to see you May 20 to help us mark nine years of rock ‘n’ roll revelry.
As a special treat, we’ll have some anniversary posters available along with a limited edition run of T-shirts to mark the occasion.
Our good friends Brit La Palm & the Barrel Fever will be joining us to help kick off the party so get your tickets or a table early here to make sure you don’t miss all the fun.
This will be one of the most special shows in Bitteroots history because it will mark the last time we’ll be joined onstage on a regular basis by guitarist Kyle Bryant, who’s been holding down six-sting duties on stage right for more than three years with us. While he may have moved, he’ll always be a Bitteroot and have a place on stage right, next to horn blower Derron Nuhfer, any time he’s available to join us.
Help us celebrate our birthday and the turning of a page in Bitteroots history at Eddie’s Attic May 20.
That’s about all we can squeeze into this edition of the newsletter, but we’ve got a lot more we could go over as we dive headlong into summer festivals. Make sure to keep following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to get quick updates on what we’re up to.
We’ll have another edition of the newsletter out soon to keep you caught up on all we’re doing.
We can’t wait to see you at the next show!
So long for now,
